Sports & Nature Hotel Boè
Hotel Boè was founded in 1913 as a 5-bed guesthouse and was one of the first hotels in Arabba. It is located at the Passo Campolongo, at the foot of the Sella Group, between Arabba and Corvara.
At times, it was closed due to the First World War, but it reopened shortly thereafter and was gradually expanded. After the death of the original owner, the hotel was purchased by the cook Giuditta Sorà and her husband Paolo Canins. Later, their daughter Angelica, together with her two daughters, continued to run the hotel.
The Canins family’s goal was to renovate the hotel to meet the modern expectations of guests, increase the number of rooms from 38 to 52 spacious and modern rooms, and expand the wellness and sports areas. Through the renovation, the building was given a new, modern appearance aimed at guests who wish to combine sports and nature during their stay.
On December 12, 2018, after just 8 months of construction, the Sports & Nature Hotel Boè opened its doors. The renovation encompassed almost the entire building, with the exception of the restaurant, kitchen, and an existing wellness area, which remained unchanged.
The façade was lightened with wooden boxes that represent the expansion of the rooms to the south and north. The new four-story section, connected to the existing building, houses 15 new rooms, a new indoor pool with a relaxation area, a panoramic sauna, a ski and mountain bike depot, and new staff rooms.
In winter, guests can directly access the slopes from the hotel with their skis, and in summer, they have a dedicated area for mountain bike maintenance and cleaning.
The tight budget required creative construction and design solutions to meet the client’s desire for economic sustainability and to achieve an optimal balance between investment and project performance.
The result is a building with an attractive design that uses traditional local natural materials such as wood, combined with modern materials like metal and steel.
This architectural approach reflects the desire to give a new identity to a hotel that caters to sporty guests and nature lovers.
