Hotel Belvedere
The 4**** Vitalpina Hotel Belvedere in Naturns commissioned G22 Projects for the fourth time to carry out the renovation and expansion of the property.
The brief included the creation of nine exclusive rooms, the extension of the dining hall, as well as a fitness area and a refined wellness and spa zone featuring a panoramic sauna as a key architectural highlight.
A particular planning challenge lay in accommodating the extensive spatial programme within a very limited footprint while having to adapt rigorously to the existing building structure.
To allow for the future creation of additional rooms and suites, an additional construction phase was already incorporated into the planning process.
Maintaining a balance between the existing building and the new intervention was also essential from an architectural standpoint. The new volume was therefore integrated into the existing structure as harmoniously as possible rather than designed as a completely detached element, while still introducing a contemporary approach and subtly establishing new accents.
For the Tappeiner family, it was important that the new Vitalpina area convey a distinctive atmosphere. The focus was to be placed on fitness and wellness. The highlight of the project is the new panoramic sauna with views of the surrounding natural landscape. The spa includes a bio-sauna, Finnish sauna, steam bath, experience showers, and two relaxation rooms.
In the interior design, special emphasis was placed on bright and light-filled spaces. The choice of materials and the soft mint-green colour palette evoke freshness, naturalness, and a subtly Mediterranean touch. The elegant and timeless style of the new extension is reflected in the selected materials – particularly wood and black accents – which express the personality of the owners.
