Invited competition for the new construction of the valley station
With the new valley station a modern centre for the municipality of Livigno is to be created, which can be used in both winter and summer.
The architectural design, inspired by Livigno’s mountains, integrates harmoniously into the historic and natural context.
The selected materials are typical of the region and easy to maintain. The main façades on the ground floor and at the front are made of metal, which is dark in colour and textured to resemble the wood of the surrounding buildings. Render is used on the upper floors.
The terraces are made of wood – for reasons of prestige and tradition.
The ground floor is the central point of contact between the slopes and the ski area and houses a bar/after-ski areas as well as an external stage.
The first floor is dedicated to dining and sightseeing: it includes a restaurant, a terrace, and a pedestrian gallery.
